AboutRMITLink & the RMITSports Centre
The Students Group leads the provision of a distinctive memorable and engaging student experience. The Group draws on student ideas and feedback to inform RMITs planning processes and the delivery of an appropriate range of student services and arts sport and recreation programs including information and assistance for careers and employment.
RMIT Linkis responsible forprovision of services and programs that enhance the Student Experience in sport and recreation and arts and culture under the Dean of Students. These are considered essential for the delivery of a balanced campus life; not onlyprovidingstudents and staff access to healthy activities but equally forsocialisationand deeper University engagement. Programs are offered on the Universitys campuses in the City of MelbourneBrunswickand Bundoora and through partnerships and venue hire arrangements at a range of sites in addition to funding provided by the University and the Student Services Amenities Fee RMIT Link receives funding through commercial activitiessponsorshipsand providingthese services RMIT Link contributes to the student experience in building engagement and belonging inprovidinglearning skill development and leadership opportunities for students and inprovidingstudent involvement in the development and delivery of RMIT Link programs.
The sporting facilities at Bundoora are used as teaching spaces during weekdays and outside these set hours for campus sport and for hire by the City of Whittlesea community. The RMIT Sports Centre is also the home of RMIT Sport and the Universitys team the Redbacks. A division of the Students Group RMIT Link offers a range of extra-curricular programs and non-profit social enterprises as part of RMITs student experience.

About the Role
The Customer Service Officer is based at reception atRMIT Sports Centreand is the first point of contact for all Centreusers including members and prospective amember of our customer service team you willprovidefastfriendlyand efficient service to Centreusers including staffstudentsand members of the public. Key responsibilities for thispositioninclude:
Providingexcellent service to customers
Actioning member and phone enquiries
Taking facility hire bookings selling and processing new memberships
Cash transactions and reconciliation
AssistingwithCentreoperations toensure the smooth running of the facility
Basiccafeteria food handling and serving
Key Selection Criteria
Demonstratedcustomer service experiencein the fitness sport and recreation industry desirable but not essential
Knowledge of and experience in using point of sale and member databases
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Enthusiasm initiativewithan ability to workbothautonomously and within a team.
Experience with food handling andOH&Sis highly desirable
