Job Description:
This Postdoctoral Fellow will be primarily responsible for designing and conducting experiments related to this labs NIH and/or other grants which seek to understand the role of mitochondrial DNA leakage in inflammation in osteoarthritis and intervertebral disc degeneration. This Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to conduct experiments and data analysis in an independent way choose procedures appropriate for data acquisition and be able to make independent judgements concerning experimental design and needed modifications to experimental protocols as well as troubleshooting. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in animal handling surgical models of osteoarthritis and intervertebral disc degeneration microCT imaging cartilage and bone histology and primary chondrocyte culture.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
Ph.D. required.
4-5 years laboratory experience required.
Communication and other skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English to effectively communicate with other laboratory workers.
Must be motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
Must be computer literate with knowledge of data analysis and graphic programs.
