The role

As a Driver youll be responsible for providing essential transport services that support the RSME contract. From moving personnel and equipment to ensuring vehicle safety and compliance your role will be vital in keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently.

This is a hands-on position where your skills will directly contribute to national defence training. Youll work with a variety of military and civilian vehicles gaining valuable experience and making a meaningful impact every day.

Day-to-day youll be:

Driving eligible personnel and equipment to and from training exercises or military duties
Completing vehicle checks before during and after use
Supporting departmental admin tasks and delivering stores across site
Travelling up to 1.5 hours from site and performing manual tasks such as lifting and using tools
Operating a range of vehicles including PSV and LGV fleet

The role is based onsite at RSME Minley and the set working times are Monday to Thursday 08:0016:30 and Friday 08:0016:00 totalling 37 hours per week. Overtime may be available and flexibility in start times may be required.

Essential experience of the Driver:

Practical experience maintaining roadworthiness of vehicles
Strong understanding of drivers hours regulations (JSP800 Vol 5 or EU regulations)
Experience in load restraint and load safety

Qualifications for the Driver:

Full UK Driving Licence with minimum Category C
Driver CPC and Tachograph card
Any necessary training or qualifications will be fully funded by Babcock

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
