Senior Support Worker

Salary: 14.75 per hour (reviewed annually)
Hours: 36 hours per week (Days)
Contract: Permanent

Requirement: Full UK driving licence (automatic accepted held for 1 year)


About the Role Senior Support Worker (Complex Needs)


We are recruiting a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our SDR Care team supporting a young person with autism a learning disability and epilepsy in a bespoke 2:1 care setting.


This is a leadership-focused role where you will not only deliver hands-on care but also mentor guide and support other Support Workers to ensure consistently high-quality person-centred care.


You will play a key role in creating a safe structured and engaging environment that promotes independence wellbeing and positive outcomes.


The individual you will support enjoys:

  • Outdoor adventures
  • Music
  • Water play
  • Trampolining


A full driving licence is essential as you will be supporting community access and driving the service users vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day care as a Senior Support Worker in a 2:1 complex needs setting
  • Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs
  • Mentor support and guide Support Workers within the team
  • Maintain consistent routines and high standards of care
  • Support community access including driving safely to activities and appointments
  • Promote independence life skills and confidence
  • Contribute to staff development and team training
  • Ensure accurate and timely care documentation


Who Were Looking For

  • Experience as a Senior Support Worker (or similar leadership role)
  • Background in autism learning disabilities or complex needs
  • Confident and safe driver (essential)
  • Strong leadership mentoring and communication skills
  • Resilient creative and passionate about making a difference
  • Ability to build positive trusting relationships
