Summary:
-
Performs maintenance repair and modification of aircraft structures and components of moderate to high complexity.
-
Applies technical knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to troubleshoot repair and restore aircraft to operational condition. Interprets blueprints engineering drawings and technical manuals to perform structural repairs and ensure compliance with specifications.

Maintain repair and modify aircraft structures and related systems (flight controls engines hydraulics pneumatics fuel and mechanical components).
-
Perform close-tolerance drilling reaming fastening sealing painting shimming and preservation of structures.
-
Read and interpret engineering drawings specifications and technical data.
-
Utilize specialized tooling fixtures and aircraft-specific equipment.
-
Troubleshoot mechanical components and perform sheet metal/structural repairs and modifications.
-
Access digital systems to manage parts discrepancies and work documentation.
-
Maintain certifications and ensure compliance with safety tool control and FOD procedures.
-
Assist other mechanics and departments to meet cost and schedule targets.
-
Perform duties in confined spaces and on elevated platforms; lift up to 35 lbs.
Requirements:
-
High School Diploma or GED.
-
4 years of experience working with non-porous metals (aluminum titanium stainless steel).
-
4 years reading and interpreting schematics specifications and assembly drawings.
-
4 years using hand tools such as drills (45 /90 ) rivet guns countersink cages hole finders etc.
-
4 years of heavy structures experience (drilling countersinking fastening components such as doublers stringers webs and seat tracks).
-
Basic knowledge of electrical theory and aircraft systems.
-
Ability to work variable shifts overtime weekends and holidays as required.
-
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Physical Requirements:
-
Climb ladders work in confined spaces and lift up to 35 lbs (occasional team lifts over 50 lbs).
-
Frequent standing walking reaching overhead and balancing on uneven surfaces.
-
Tolerance for noise exposure and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
-
Ability to pass visual acuity color perception and safety certifications.
-
Must comply with all safety hazardous materials and training requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in heavy aircraft maintenance (F/A-18 or depot-level).
-
Experience working with titanium structures.
-
Familiarity with JIRA or digital maintenance tracking systems.
