Job Summary

Were looking for a SAP Functional Consultant SAP CAR to join our SAP Retail and Analytics team.

As a key link between business and technology youll design configure and optimize SAP CAR solutions that integrate seamlessly with SAP Retail S/4HANA ECC and multiple Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. Your work will empower the business to improve data accuracy operational efficiency and customer insight driving the next generation of intelligent retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Configuration

Analyse business requirements and design end-to-end SAP CAR solutions in line with SAP best practices.
Configure POSDTA UDF SAP Fiori applications and other CAR modules.
Develop and deliver functional designs for integrations via SAP PI/PO and IDocs.
Implement enhancements using BADIs BAPIs and user exits to meet unique business needs while maintaining system integrity.

Integration & Data Management

Coordinate and manage integration between SAP CAR SAP Retail/S/4HANA/ECC and third-party POS or eCommerce systems.
Ensure accurate data mapping validation and processing of sales returns promotions and inventory movements.
Manage inbound and outbound IDoc processing troubleshoot mapping issues and maintain data quality across systems.

Process Optimization & Quality Assurance

Recommend and implement enhancements to improve system performance and data accuracy.
Lead and execute SIT UAT and regression testing cycles managing defect resolution and sign-off.
Oversee batch job management across SAP CAR Control-M and related services.

Support & Governance

Lead incident resolution perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
Collaborate closely with business teams developers and project managers to deliver on milestones.
Prepare functional documentation process manuals and conduct user training sessions.
Ensure compliance with data privacy audit and governance standards.

Requirements

Professional Experience

810 years of SAP functional consulting experience including 5 years in SAP CAR and SAP IS-Retail.
Hands-on involvement in at least one or two full lifecycle POS integration or implementation projects leveraging SAP CAR.
Strong working knowledge of POSDTA POSDM SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
Experience with Demand Data Foundation (DDF) and Unified Demand Forecast (UDF).
Deep experience with IDoc configuration partner profiles ALE/EDI integration and troubleshooting.
Practical use of BADIs BAPIs and user exits for system enhancements.
Ability to translate business needs into clear functional designs and collaborate with ABAP and Fiori developers.

Technical & Functional Expertise

Comprehensive understanding of SAP IS-Retail processes (sales audit returns promotions markdowns inventory).
Strong background in SAP PI/PO integration for POS data exchange.
Familiarity with master and transactional data mapping across POS CAR and Retail systems.
Knowledge of batch job scheduling data services and dependency management.
Advantageous: proficiency in SQL and SAP reporting tools for backend validation and analytics.

Process & Delivery

Skilled in requirements gathering process mapping and SAP solution design.
Experienced in both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
Proficient in defect management tools such as JIRA and HP ALM.

Education & Certifications

Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related discipline.
SAP CAR or SAP Retail certification preferred.
