We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Team Lead to oversee production operations on our clients site in Eindhoven with a focus on lens production and incoming goods.
In this role you will work standard Monday to Friday daytime hours leading and supporting a team of 15 Lab Operators who cover 24/5 production through rotating shifts. Youll ensure smooth operations in a cleanroom environment driving performance and maintaining high standards across the team.
This is a 6-month contract role with a strong possibility of extension.
Our client specialises in innovating optical hardware for the next generation of virtual augmented and mixed reality devices. The team is part of the Display and Optics organisation focused on incubating and deploying disruptive technologies from research to product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead coordinate and support a team of 15 operators working on rotating shifts (day evening night) to ensure seamless 24/7 production.
- Oversee daily cleanroom activities ensuring operators have the resources consumables and guidance needed to perform effectively.
- Manage shift scheduling holiday planning and handovers ensuring continuity and smooth operation across shifts.
- Monitor and optimise production workflows driving improvements in efficiency quality and consistency.
- Take ownership of 6S (workplace organisation) and continuous improvement initiatives embedding best practices across the team.
- Maintain and refine work instructions and SOPs ensuring clarity compliance and alignment with production goals.
- Act as the key link between operators and management reporting on progress challenges and resource needs.
- Provide coaching support and guidance to operators fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in a production or high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Strong organisational skills with experience managing teams across multiple shifts.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and operational excellence.
- Experience in 3D printing or other precision manufacturing is an advantage but not essential.
- Knowledge of 6S or similar workplace organisation practices with a track record of implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and motivate teams.
