This position is part of the Service team within South Asia and supports the Service Project Logistics & HSE Manager to facilitate the management of the local delivery and execution requirements between the Service and Programs functions.
- Conducts all assigned work in a professional manner and in full compliance with Smiths Detection and Customer requirements supporting the Service Project Logistics & HSE Manager in meeting quality and performance expectations.
- Assists the Service Project Logistics & HSE Manager in achieving project technical cost and schedule objectives by coordinating day-to-day project tasks and maintaining accurate records of progress and deliverables.
- Supports effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment across all project activities.
- Provides coordination and logistical support for technical activities on assigned projects including equipment preparation material movement and resource planning.
- Assists in the planning scheduling and coordination of engineering and site works to ensure activities are conducted in compliance with applicable codes Smiths Detection standards and Quality Assurance requirements.
- Coordinates with internal departments including manufacturing engineering planning and maintenance to ensure timely and efficient execution of assigned project activities.
- Prepares and processes purchase requests for local services consumables and equipment as directed by the Service Project Logistics & HSE Manager ensuring accuracy and cost compliance.
- Supports the allocation and coordination of project resources within the multidisciplinary team ensuring all required personnel tools and materials are available when required.
- Assists in monitoring project progress reporting any risks delays or issues to the Service Project Logistics & HSE Manager to support timely corrective action.
- While engaged on Program works supports the assigned Programs Manager and Service Project Logistics & HSE Manager in meeting quality schedule and execution objectives for all deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Service Project Logistics & HSE Manager with the planning coordination and execution of project delivery activities ensuring alignment with project schedules and customer requirements.
- Manage day-to-day logistics for assigned projects including freight coordination delivery tracking and site access arrangements.
- Prepare and organise equipment for dispatch ensuring all materials are complete compliant and in proper working condition prior to delivery.
- Conduct site visits as required to assess conditions support installations oversee deliveries and provide on-site coordination during works.
- Liaise with internal departments (Service Programs and Commercial) and external partners (suppliers freight forwarders subcontractors and customers) to ensure clear communication and smooth project flow.
- Support the development of project schedules resource plans and Method of Procedures (MOPs) under the guidance of the Service Project Logistics & HSE Manager.
- Ensure that project documentation including site reports delivery records and acceptance/commissioning forms is completed and filed in accordance with Smiths Detection requirements.
- Provide operational support during installation including coordination of field teams site safety compliance and monitoring of progress against milestones.
- Identify and report any project risks issues or deviations from plan to the Service Project Logistics & HSE Manager for escalation and resolution.
- Assist with the procurement of local services and consumables including preparation of purchase requests and supplier coordination.
- Support site health safety and environmental compliance in all project activities ensuring adherence to Smiths Detections standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain awareness of ongoing service projects and contribute to planning meetings scheduling discussions and resource allocation processes.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for service improvements or aftermarket sales through close engagement with customers and technical understanding.
- Undertake other duties as required to support the successful execution of service projects and the wider Service department objectives.
Qualifications :
Tertiary qualification in logistics project management construction or production management (preferred)
