Job Summary

This role is onsite 3-days per week (T-W-R) in North Chicago IL. 

The Instructional Designer II Content Development leverages knowledge and expertise in instructional design and adult learning theories to design develop and deliver robust and engaging learning experiences to address knowledge gaps in support of clinical processes and clinical trial execution. This role is accountable to design develop and evaluate material aligned to learning programs established by Learning and Training & AbbVie Complete Access (ACA) Leadership. 

Responsibilities:

Per direction of Content Design Manager design and develop robust engaging learning experiences on time and within budget (if applicable) that are based on sound instructional design principles and align with adult learning theories and corporate learning models.

Ensure learning experiences are issued via the appropriate platform and all metadata and approvals are complete and accurate to facilitate compliance effective searching and periodic review.

Participates in continuous improvement projects or cross-functional initiatives in support of business priorities.

Identify issues that potentially impact compliance to learning expectations and identify potential interventions or solutions to mitigate risks.

Effectively communicate learning/knowledge gaps metrics and project progress. Establish networks and relationships within and across functions to define training needs and current training progress within the organization.

Manage and oversee outsourced projects to ensure alignment with SME expectations business objectives and AbbVie processes as needed. 

Analyze and evaluate learning needs in support of clinical trial execution and may work with vendors to design and develop robust engaging learning experiences.

Actively monitor contemporary design and learning trends looking for opportunities to bring to our team additional technologies and/or techniques.

    Qualifications :

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree is required with a preference for fields such as Learning and Development Organizational Development or Adult Education. Masters degree preferred.
    • Must have 4 years of adult learning related experience.
    • Pharma / clinical research experience preferred.
    • Must have demonstrated a high level of core and technical competencies. A design portfolio will be requested during selection process. 
    • Possesses good communication skills and demonstrated leadership abilities and problem-solving skills.
    • This position will report into a manager level and will have no direct reports but could begin to matrix manage a team.
    • Expertise in instructional design principles and adult learning tools.
    • SME in ongoing trends within function and video content development.

    • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time ofthis posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic locationand we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

    • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
