DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Process Engineering Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating maintaining and optimizing automated wire processing machines. The ideal candidate will support process development ensure production quality and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced environment.
***This position will start off in our Greensboro facility but will move to our new Burlington facility in the next few months. Position will train on first shift and then move to second shift. Hours will likely be Monday-Friday 1pm-10pm. ***
Key Responsibilities:
Operate automated wire processing machines for wire cutting stripping crimping and bundling
- Set up and adjust machine parameters based on job specifications and engineering documentation
- Perform routine maintenance mechanical adjustments troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure optimal machine performance
- Collaborate with engineering to develop and refine wire processing workflows and tooling setups
- Monitor production output for quality and consistency; perform in-process inspections and document results
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings production runs and material usage
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for process deviations or equipment issues
- Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects
Requirements Required Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing electronics or mechanical engineering preferred
- 2 years of experience operating wire processing equipment or similar automation systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electromechanical systems
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings schematics and work instructions
- Basic understanding of crimp force monitoring terminal validation and quality control tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Comfortable using computers and following digital instructions
- Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn
- Physically able to stand crouch and lift throughout the workday
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with wire processing equipment and job file management
- Knowledge of UL wire types and terminal specifications
- Knowledge of UL processed wire standards and traceability
- Familiarity with ERP and MES integrated systems
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma principles
