Position:Business Resilience & Emergency Management Consultant
Status: Contract and/or Contract-to-Hire (10-20 Hours/Week- During Business Hours)
Location: Strong Preference for Professionals Currently Based in North Carolina South Carolina or Georgia. No Relocation Assistance is Provided.
Travel:Potential to Travel 10%
Salary: Based on Experience

Overview:

Our client a professional services training and advisory company specializing in crisis management and business resilience is seeking a contract/contract-to-hire professional who can work 10-20 hours/week during business hours. This role supports Emergency Management Business Continuity Crisis Management and Resilience program services for their clients. Depending on experience level this individual may either lead or support service delivery helping organizations design implement and maintain effective resilience frameworks.

Our client is open to candidates who bring 38 years of combined experience in emergency preparedness response business continuity security crisis management or related fields whether as an emerging practitioner or a seasoned consultant ready to take ownership of client engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide subject-matter expertise guidance and analytical support across technical areas including Emergency Management Business Continuity Crisis Management Security and Resilience.
• Support or lead the design development and implementation of resilience program components plans playbooks reports and training materials.
• Manage or contribute to all phases of service delivery: needs assessment planning testing implementation and maintenance.
• Develop professional publication-ready documents that align with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. NIMS HSEEP ISO OSHA NFPA).
• Conduct or support meetings workshops and presentations with clients including senior executives and cross-functional teams.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships ensuring satisfaction retention and long-term impact.
• For senior candidates: lead projects mentor team members oversee quality assurance and contribute to thought leadership through articles webinars and conference participation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree from an accredited university. Candidates with an academic background in Emergency Management Homeland Security Public Affairs Public Health or a related discipline are preferred (not required).
• 38 years of experience in emergency preparedness response business continuity crisis management security or related resilience functions.
• Experience designing developing and publishing emergency management crisis management security or business continuity plans for public and private organizations.
• Proven ability to manage or contribute to complex projects under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written organizational and communication skills with the ability to convey technical information in clear business-friendly terms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-4 years of project or program management experience.
• Experience engaging directly with senior leadership (Directors VPs Executives) and presenting complex technical concepts in easily understandable text and pictures or graphics.
• Knowledge of resilience standards and best practices (NIMS HSEEP ISO 22301 etc.).
• Industry experience in healthcare aviation higher education or critical infrastructure sectors.
• Certifications such as CBCP MBCP CEM PMP or related credentials.
• Experience working in or with start-up or growth-stage organizations.
• Familiarity with IT Disaster Recovery Enterprise Risk or Physical Security is a plus.
