Job Summary

Director of Emergency Department (Permanent Role)

Location: Kansas City MO 64101

Shift: 12 hr Days 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)

Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Department.
Oversee the daily functions and long-term planning of the ED ensuring high standards of patient care.
Collaborate with nursing leadership physicians and administrative staff to maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Monitor and drive performance metrics including patient flow patient satisfaction and quality outcomes.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve department efficiency.
Ensure staff competency retention and development through coaching and mentoring.
Manage budget staffing levels and resource allocation effectively.
Foster a culture of safety teamwork and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years RECENT experience as a Director of Emergency Department in an acute care setting.
- May consider a strong ED Manager if responsibilities align with Director-level duties and strong performance metrics are evident.
Proven leadership experience with measurable success in improving ED performance and patient outcomes.
Bachelors Degree or other approved education plan (Required)
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Masters Degree (Preferred)
