General Summary:

The Director for TV Distribution will oversee all aspects of operations for SVOD and AVOD and all such new media in the assigned clints/partners. Field analyze and resolve contractual and operational client issues. Review all legal contracts for SVOD AVOD and FAST. Analyze prospective SVOD/AVOD Sales deals and participate in negotiations for the various products Sony Pictures has to offer. Forecast product flow and schedule for distribution windows SVOD and AVOD. Liaise with the Sony Pictures divisions in the territory for cross-divisional synergies. Seek Co-production opportunities.

The Director Distribution is a highly motivated strategic thinking leader who shares a passion for sales and driving business growth to work in our TV distribution division based in Mexico City. Reporting to the VP Distribution responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Sales of long and short form programming to pan regional digital OTT streaming partners (SVOD AVOD and FAST)
  • Negotiate term sheets and long form agreements
  • Must have or be able to develop and nurture exceptionally strong and lasting relationships with our key clients and partners.
  • Partner management of top tier digital and OTT platforms
  • Develop new business opportunities and strategic partnerships
  • Partner with stakeholders to create curated packages of content maximizing revenue and profitability of programming assets.
  • Effectively use competitive intelligence as a tool to inform sales and negotiations
  • Responsible for year-over-year growth of content licensing revenue and profitability
  • Work closely across internal departments including Legal & Business Affairs Sales Planning Production Operations Finance Marketing and Research & Analytics.
  • Sell strategically against budget and ultimates
  • Track and report the overall business on a weekly basis against budget and forecast
  • Attend all relevant sales markets and make local and international sales trips

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years sales experience within the Latin American market preferably with studio sales experience
  • Bachelors degree
  • Expertise of all digital platforms
  • Experience selling and/or acquiring content for major streaming company network or studio
  • Strong negotiation skills able to analyze deals through financial modeling
  • Experience identifying and developing new business opportunities with commercial and strategic partners
  • General knowledge of content distribution
  • Ability to negotiate complex contracts
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) in both English and Spanish risk assessment and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Ability to travel regularly both domestically and overseas
