PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
To Assist in the delivery of Koori supported playgroup KPSA program and School Holiday Programs
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct guidance and instruction of the Co-Ordinator assist in:
KPSA program
Support the KPSA Worker to:
Prepare and present a cultural educational activity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous children as an ongoing exercise.
Support all families who have an Aboriginal child enrolled in Kinder with any challenges or concerns.
Raise any matters of concern with the teacher.
Discussing the childrens program with the teacher.
Working with the children in small/large groups or individually where required.
Maintaining records as required.
Identifying resources that encourage strengthening the childs cultural identity learning activities and stimulate childrens senses and encourages their development.
School holiday programs
Maintain an open warm and professional relationship with all parents/carers and staff to share positive information about the children with their parents.
Work with all staff volunteers and stakeholders to ensure that programs provide effective and harmonious activities in a safe clean stimulating and welcoming environment.
Comply with all Childrens Services Acts and Regulations and GAC policies.
Ensure that childrens behaviour is monitored and appropriate intervention is undertaken using positive guidance and a variety of appropriate behaviour management techniques.
Show sensitivity and respect for individual childrens needs.
Report all daily incidents issues complaints feedback to the Coordinator Area Manager.
Assist in Preparing and monitoring consumables food and equipment in accordance with the Event Plan. Ensuring availability and clean-up is carried out in a timely manner

Specific Conditions/Restrictions
Must comply with reference and qualification checks prior to employment (and present originals of qualification updates for copying and updating of training registers).
Must be physically and mentally capable of carrying out duties of the position.
Must comply with GACs Immunisation Policy which mandates Covid-19 Flu and various childhood vaccine preventable diseases.
Able to pass and maintain:
-A National Police check (at the organisations expense).
-A Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (at the organisations expense).
-Other probity checks as may be mandated from time-to-time.
-Current Victorian Drivers License.
