Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong foundational understanding of Data Analysis principles and is eager to apply their technical skills in Python SQL and Business Intelligence (BI) tools to extract insights that drive business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring analyst to grow their career and contribute immediately to high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Extraction & Transformation: Write and optimize SQL queries to extract data from various databases and reporting.
- Data Analysis & Modeling: Use Python libraries (e.g. Pandas NumPy) to clean transform and analyze large datasets identifying trends patterns and anomalies.
- Reporting & Visualization: Develop maintain and automate dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g. Tableau Power BI Looker) to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Insight Generation: Support senior analysts by conducting deep-dive analyses on business problems translating data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Data Quality: Assist in monitoring data quality and integrity ensuring the accuracy and reliability of reports and analyses.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation for data sources logic and reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering Computer Science Mathematics or a related discipline.
- SQL Proficiency: Solid understanding of relational databases and demonstrable skill in writing complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation (e.g. joins aggregations window functions).
- Python Programming: Foundational knowledge of Python and its application in data analysis including experience with core libraries like Pandas and NumPy. Experience with visualization libraries (e.g. Matplotlib Seaborn) is a plus.
- BI Tool Experience: Hands-on experience creating dashboards and reports using at least one major Business Intelligence tool (e.g. Tableau Power BI Google Looker/Data Studio).
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical findings to a general audience.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. AWS Redshift Google BigQuery).
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and basic machine learning concepts.
- Exposure to version control systems like Git.
