Service Technician
Job Description
Commercial Mechanical Systems & Service LLC (CMSS) is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our skilled mechanical service team. This full-time position focuses on servicing repairing and maintaining HVAC systems for commercial and industrial clients throughout Utah.
Responsibilities
Sales / Marketing / Project Management
- Perform diagnostics repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems including chillers boilers rooftop units (RTUs) variable air volume (VAV) systems and split systems.
- Install mechanical components and systems according to specifications codes and safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools instruments and techniques.
- Accurately document service activities parts used and system performance.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding work performed and service recommendations.
- Adhere to company safety policies procedures and standards at all times.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience servicing commercial mechanical HVAC systems.
- EPA Universal Certification required additional state or local licenses a plus.
- Strong understanding of HVAC components controls and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varied environments including rooftops and confined spaces.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders and access rooftop or mechanical equipment.
- Work in confined spaces or variable weather conditions when required.
- Lift and carry tools or equipment for jobsite assessments.
- Working beyond standard hours when necessary to meet project or client needs.
