The shipping coordinator oversees the outbound packages for transportation. As a shipping coordinator your job duties include communicating with shippers to provide rates managing large quantities of packages and assisting with various routing tasks. o Create work schedules and procedures for the team
o Resolve questions or concerns from employees and customers
o Train new staff on their duties and company policies
o After packaging assist with clearing the packaging area (with weight and OPID)
o Assist with processing all prep shipment (creating a DSE BOL shippable or stored in rack for domestic shipments and determine how it ships and for international shipment work with ITC.
o Coordinate with trucking companies (LTL TL and expedite)
o Assist pulling customer pick-up orders for shipment and validate all customer paperwork
o Assist if order needs to be changed to another order then un-picked the material and pick it for the shippable order
o Order necessary supplies and equipment
o Prepare and send out necessary paperwork
o Discuss and negotiate rates with new or existing suppliers
o Issues detailed shipping instruction to the team
o Follow up on shipments to ensure they were delivered correctly
o to the Flow Leader of the Manufacturing Department.
