Working 36.5 hours per week

Every year domestic abuse shatters the lives of 2.3 million people across the Birmingham we are determined to change that. This is your opportunity to join a passionate Domestic Abuse Prevention Team working to break the cycle of abuse support safer communities and deliver lasting change through the Citys Domestic Abuse Prevention Strategy.

The post holder will have strategic oversight on implementing Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act which places duties on local authorities to provide domestic abuse support in safe accommodation for all survivors. Amongst other duties this exciting and challenging role will involve progressing and delivering work at a fast pace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead domestic abuse commissioning activities to deliver improved outcomes for survivors as per our duties under Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. Oversee contract negotiations and ensure compliance with procurement frameworks.
  • Build develop and manage collaborative relationships with stakeholders specialist providers and survivors to drive and support the Domestic Abuse Strategic Partnership Board and delivery of our Domestic Abuse Prevention Strategy 2024.
  • Lead on developing data/evidence led approach including a citywide DA dashboard with multiple partners to inform strategic decisions and service development.
  • Manage performance frameworks and ensure services meet MHCLG quality standards on domestic abuse.
  • Promote innovation and co-production in service design and delivery of the Domestic Abuse Prevention Strategy 2024.

About You

Were looking for a committed and skilled professional who can bring both passion and expertise to this vital role. You will:

  • Have proven experience of working within or alongside domestic abuse service providers or similar with the confidence and drive to make a difference.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders building strong partnerships to deliver the Domestic Abuse Prevention Strategy.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the domestic abuse landscapenationally regionally and locallycombined with strategic awareness and commercial acumen.
  • Bring experience/ability to lead and manage a team to deliver key priorities.
  • Ability to lead commissioning and change programmes within complex organisations.
  • Be confident in analysing and interpreting data to shape decisions and influence positive outcomes.
