Job Summary

The Vice President of Global Brand Communications and Newsroom will lead the strategic development and execution of integrated communications across brand & sponsorship newsroom content and social media strategy for Visas Global Communications & Events Team. This is a unique opportunity to establish a new function elevate Visas newsroom capabilities and build a best-in-class digital and social-first strategy and team. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader who understands how communications must evolve to be fit for purpose in the era of AI and brings experience in building recruiting and launching new teams. They must also bring deep expertise in insights and a data-driven mindset to inform strategy optimize performance and measure impact across channels.

This global role spans the full breadth of Visas products and requires a leader who can partner and manage by influence across a matrixed organization. Deep expertise in digital storytelling media strategy and cross-functional collaboration is essential. The successful candidate will reinforce Visas narrative enhance brand equity and drive engagement across external and internal channels to reach key stakeholders including consumers clients partners and employees. This leader will have the unique opportunity to harness Visas elite global sponsorship platformsincluding the world-renowned FIFA the high-octane Formula 1 and the iconic Olympicsto elevate brand storytelling and drive unparalleled engagement.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Brand & Sponsorship Communications

  • Develop and execute brand positioning strategies that align with corporate objectives and global campaigns.
  • Support the office of the CMO and oversee the strategy and delivery of communications for all marketing activations.
  • Oversee communications for global sponsorships including sports entertainment and cause-related partnerships ensuring alignment with brand values and audience engagement goals.

Newsroom Content & Strategy

  • Establish and operationalize a world-class newsroom within the Global Communications & Events Team to support and amplify the full scope of Visas business.
  • Act as Editor-in-Chief for our newsroom (Visa Perspectives) and the development of accompanying external newsletters podcasts and video series.
  • Establish a centralized editorial calendar and governance model for Perspectives and all internal communications channels. Ensure message consistency content quality governance and alignment with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to amplify product launches corporate initiatives and thought leadership across our external channels as well as our internal channels.
  • Deliver a strategy for leveraging paid media and amplification to extend the reach and value of our content and efforts.
  • Leverage AI-driven tools and frameworks to optimize owned content for discoverability personalization and performance across digital channels.

Social Media Content & Strategy

  • Oversee a global social media team to deliver always-on data-driven content strategies across Visas dedicated news channels on LinkedIn X Instagram and YouTube.
  • Drive thought leadership and executive visibility through social storytelling and influencer engagement.
  • Monitor brand sentiment and reputation across digital channels responding to trends and crises in real time.
  • Deep collaboration with Marketing to ensure content is leveraged amplified and / or engaged with via the other Visa brand presences across platforms (X Instagram TikTok YouTube and Facebook.).

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build lead and mentor a high-performing team of content creators strategists and channel managers.
  • Collaborate with communications counterparts for the business and within regions to inform strategy and ensure a unified message and brand voice.
  • Build strong relationships with marketing product legal and executive leadership.
  • Manage agency relationships and media partnerships to maximize reach and ROI.

 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:
12 or more years of work experience with a bachelors Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:
15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD PhD).
15 years of progressive experience in communications marketing or media with at least 5 years in a senior content and or / social leadership role.
Demonstrated experience applying AI technologies to enhance content strategy personalization and performance across digital platforms.
Proven success leading global initiatives with cross-regional impact including managing by influence in complex matrixed organizations.
Track record of building recruiting and launching high-performing teams from the ground up to support new functions or capabilities.
Proven track record of building and scaling global content and social media programs that include interactive content (e.g. video audio etc.)
Deep understanding of digital platforms analytics and emerging media trends.
Experience managing large teams and cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.
Strong executive presence and ability to influence at all levels.
Exceptional writing storytelling and presentation skills.


Additional Information :

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 254500 to 397700 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical Dental Vision 401 (k) FSA/HSA Life Insurance Paid Time Off and Wellness Program.
