Salary: Sessional tutors are paid at an hourly rate of 35.76 with annual increments to the top of Grade 8 (38.79/hr) - hourly rate includes admin and CPD.
Working Hours:Courses are termly and are either 10 or 12 weeks long; 2 hrs per week for each course daytime and evenings. 8 courses are planned plus 2 one-day courses (5 hrs). Courses start on 4 January 2026.

About the Role
The Learning for Wellbeing Curriculum at GoLearn! (Leicestershire Adult Learning Service) offers a broad range of arts crafts dance fitness and specialist subject courses for adults. We are seeking an experienced and skilled pottery tutor to deliver courses starting in January 2026. You will need to have experience of teaching/working with adults from a variety of backgrounds and life experience some with more complex needs. You will need to be confident in course design production and planning of Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans recording learning outcomes and using a range of methods for formative assessment. All courses are non accredited and therefore follow the RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement) process requiring tutors and learners to negotiate and complete Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
You will need to have experience of or be confident in your ability to teach pottery at different levels - we offer beginner intermediate and independent learners level courses. You will also have full use of a kiln at the venue and be responsible for using this efficiently and safely firing work in a timely manner for learners. You will also be responsible for monitoring resource use keeping to budget and ordering resources in time for courses starting.
As part of your role you will undertake mandatory training including attendance at 2 CPD events and one celebratory event during the academic year which run on Saturday mornings. The curriculum also provides termly tutor team meetings.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
