ABOUT THE UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD (UGDSB)
The UGDSB employs a team of approximately 4000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35000 students attending a variety of programs across 66 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin Wellington and the City of Guelph. The UGDSB covers the ancestral and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit the Six Nations of the Grand River and Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Educational Assistant team in the capacity of temporary Educational Assistant .
Location: Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute
Hours of work/FTE: 1.0 FTE ; 32.5 hours per week
Rate of Pay / Salary Range: $30.92 to $36.74 per hour; wage rate effective September 1 2025
Board Information: 1.0 FTE; 10 months temporary full-time; ESSP-DECE Union
Reporting to the school Principal Educational Assistants must possess willingness along with the physical ability to work with all of our students who have many diverse needs. This is a 10-month position (September to June) to start as soon as possible with an unknown end date not to exceed June 2 6 202 6 .

Experience and Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who have the following qualifications:
Educational Assistant Diploma and/or a combination of formal education (fields related to the development of children and/or special education) and work experience deemed equivalent by the Board
Post-Secondary Degree in a related field of study
A valid Behaviour Management Systems certification is required for this position
Proven ability and recent experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities is strongly preferred and school-based experience is a definite asset
Autism Spectrum Disorder Training
Lifting/Positioning Training
Flexibility patience empathy and the ability to work closely with students with complex needs classroom teacher parents and Administration
Candidates must be capable of performing the essential physical duties of the position such as lifting positioning and transferring children and equipment and utilizing BMS techniques where required
Access to a reliable method of transportation and ability to attend specific schools
