Were looking for an EWP Designer to join our team in Sutton this role youll work with architects engineers and sales staff to design engineered wood product (EWP) layouts and provide accurate structural load calculations. Youll play a key role in creating cost-effective code-compliant solutions that help bring residential and light commercial building projects to life.
What Were Looking For
We want a technically skilled detail-oriented designer who enjoys problem-solving and collaboration.
What Youll Do
- Create detailed framing layouts and marked-up plans for construction projects.
- Use design software (Excel Office PlanSwift iStruct/CSD PDF Editor) to prepare accurate layouts and calculations.
- Review construction documents and recommend value-engineered options to the sales team.
- Collaborate with sales staff architects and project managers from design through completion.
- Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the build phase.
- Answer product-related questions and troubleshoot field issues.
- Conduct occasional site visits to gather information and assess project progress.
- Stay current on building codes product knowledge and industry standards.
- Assist supervisors and team members in related tasks as needed.
- Participate in company-sponsored training to enhance product knowledge and design skills.
