Responsible for onsite root cause analysis of die-casting supplier quality issues including process deviation non-conformance and dimensional defects. Lead containment corrective and preventive actions at supplier sites.
Coordinate and conduct supplier process audits (including IATF16949 / VDA6.3) and ensure alignment with company and industry quality standards.
Support new project industrialization at suppliers including technical discussions process validation PPAP submission and safe launch for machining and heat treatment parts.
Develop and maintain APQP documentation with suppliers to ensure robust process and product quality during NPI phase.
Monitor and track supplier performance KPIs (PPM on-time delivery responsiveness) and drive continuous improvement through data analysis and on-site engagement.
Qualifications :
Educational Background
Bachelors degree or above in Mechanical Engineering Materials Science Metallurgy Foundry Engineering or related technical field.
Industry & Functional Experience
At least 35 years of working experience in supplier quality process engineering or manufacturing quality preferably in the automotive or die-casting industry.
Solid understanding of die-casting gravity casting or sand casting processes and common casting defects (e.g. porosity shrinkage cold shut etc.).
Hands-on experience in machining and/or heat treatment is a strong plus.
Quality Tools & Systems
Proficient in automotive quality tools and systems:
APQP PPAP FMEA MSA SPC
Root cause analysis methodologies: 8D 5Why Ishikawa etc.
Familiarity with IATF 16949 VDA 6.3 audit and ISO standards.
