Summary:
The Academy for Career Readiness at Nuvance Health is seeking a passionate and skilled Workforce Development Educator to empower young adults aged 16-24 with the skills knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in todays workforce.ï½ This role involves designing and delivering engaging student-centered training programs that align with employer needs and support career pathways in healthcare and beyond.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in education workforce development clinical and non-clinical instruction a commitment to equity and inclusion and the ability to build meaningful partnerships with hospital departments and community stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Delivers an engaging and interactive workforce development curriculum that teaches essential employability skills for all careers while integrating technical healthcare training relevant to hospital environments.
- Administers and supports hands-on healthcare training modules including basic clinical skills safety protocols and hospital operations.
- Develops and maintains curriculum and instructional materials that reflect current industry standards and best practices.
- Differentiates instruction to meet the unique needs and learning styles of students.
- Evaluates students progress and program effectiveness through assessments feedback and performance metrics.
- Provides constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their skills and achieve career goals.
- Collaborates with Academy staff and hospital departments to align training with workforce needs and ensure program relevance.
- Implements student-centered trauma-informed and culturally responsive teaching methods.
- Facilitates meetings and training with hospital staff to coordinate programming and support student success.
- Builds meaningful and sustained relationships with students to foster engagement and retention.
- Provides small groups and individuals tutoring/instruction as needed.
- Supports students in navigating career pathways including resume development interview preparation and job placement.
- Assists with program logistics data tracking and reporting as required by the Program Director.ï½ï½
- Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.ï½ï½
- Demonstrates regular reliable and predictable attendance.ï½ ï½
- Performs other duties as required.
Other Information:
- Required: Bachelors degree
- Preferred: Masters degree in Education Social Work Training and Talent Development
- Relevant Experience: Workforce development Healthcare Education or Teaching Special Education or Non-traditional learners
- Experience teaching or training young adults using active learning practices (e.g. discussions projects hands-on activities).
- Familiarity with healthcare environments and technical training in clinical or administrative roles.
- Strong understanding of effective teaching methodologies and workforce development practices.
- Demonstrated experience assessing student progress and tailoring instruction to meet diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction to various learning styles and needs.
- Experience developing and/or teaching culturally responsive and trauma-informed curriculum.
