Under general supervision this position performs the most complex mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of water meters and responds to and resolves a variety of customer requests related to water service installations. Reports to the Director of Utilities.
Conduct preventative maintenance checks and repairs; checks meters for repairs performs flow checks collects and analyzes water samples and performs flushing for water quality problems; responds to customer inquiries and complaints regarding water service; troubleshoots and helps manage emergency situations; and helps operate well systems.
Operate and organize the use of utility tools equipment and vehicles to include maintenance and general appearance checks cleans vehicle and schedules preventative maintenance service.
Ensures the safety of Couty equipment private and public property and others by following proper safety procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requires a high school diploma and 1-2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements
Valid Commonwealth of Virginia Drivers License with an acceptable record.
Acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check and pre-employment drug testing.
The job is considered Essential Personnel and will be required to work during and following natural disasters and emergency situations.
