The Growth & Discovery Team is the engine responsible for driving massive user and revenue expansion for Gemini across all audiencesconsumers businesses and developers. Operating across the full user lifecycle the team executes a comprehensive strategy that spans Acquisition (getting people in) Activation (getting them to their aha moment quickly) Retention (making Gemini indispensable through feature discovery and valuable use cases) and Expansion/Monetization (converting engaged users into subscribers). We accomplish this through a combination of in-product funnel optimization global performance marketing disciplined experimentation powered by an advanced platform and the exploration of novel growth loops and distribution channels like Viral Sharing and Emerging Markets ultimately building the essential systems and infrastructure to ensure scalable efficient and AI-powered growth for the entire Gemini ecosystem.

The Role
As the Product Management Lead for Discovery within Gemini you will define and execute the product and growth strategy to make the Gemini App indispensable in users daily lives driving measurable increases in activation retention and monetization. You will transform engaged users into loyal paying subscribers by designing contextual personalized discovery experiences that highlight Geminis differentiated value and multimodal capabilities across all surfaces. This role requires a leader who can thrive at the intersection of AI platform evolution user experience and growth strategy ultimately shaping how people find repeatable value with Gemini and building the lasting relationships that fund continuous innovation.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive Discovery Strategy & Vision: Build the end-to-end vision and roadmap for how users find learn and adopt Geminis breadth of capabilities across chat multimodal inputs and integrated surfaces
- Convert Engagement to Subscription: Design and execute differentiated product journeys that clearly communicate and unlock paid value converting engaged users into paying subscribers
- Define and Measure Success: Own the North Star metrics for discovery efficacy subscription conversion and platform engagement driving continuous A/B experimentation and analytical rigor
- Personalized Value Proposition: Develop contextual and personalized systems (e.g. prompt recommendations workflow suggestions) that surface relevant high-value use cases to broaden utility and improve stickiness
- Build the Discovery Platform: Define and establish the underlying platform and core services that power discovery experiences including in-product search and prompt exploration
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive strategic alignment and obtain buy-in across Product Engineering Design and Research to shape Geminis role as an intelligent adaptive assistant
- Integrate Growth & Product Systems: Partner closely with Growth Subscriptions and Platform teams to ensure discovery efforts directly drive measurable activation retention and monetization
- Anticipate and Remove Obstacles: Proactively identify and resolve systemic issues that slow down or prevent the team from delivering on critical product and program objectives
- Executive Communication: Effectively present and communicate strategy implementation plans and growth results to various stakeholders from cross-functional partners to senior leadership
- Cultivate Executional Excellence: Instill a culture of ownership rapid iteration and executional excellence across the core Discovery team and cross-functional partners
About You
In order to set you up for success as a Growth Product Manager at DeepMind we look for the following skills and experience:
- Consumer Growth Leadership: 7 years of Product Management experience with a proven measurable track record of delivering highly successful 0-to-1 consumer products and driving key growth metrics (Acquisition Retention Monetization)
- Strategic Accountability: Extensive experience setting a clear product and business strategy securing executive buy-in defining necessary resourcing and operating with full accountability for the outcomes on a global scale
- Founder Mindset & Action Bias: You operate with a true startup/founder mentality demonstrating a fierce bias toward action a mastery of ambiguity/simplification and a relentless willingness to tackle problems hands-on
- Customer Obsession & Simplicity: Possess a deep customer obsession and an ability to take on complex deeply technical challenges translating them into elegant simple and delightful user experiences
- Technical & Analytical Rigor: Familiarity with systems thinking a deep fluency in analytics experiment design funnel optimization and a solid understanding of software development processes and concepts
- High-Bar Influence: Maintain a relentlessly high bar for your own contributions and those of your team possessing the leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and align senior executives and cross-functional teams

- Ph.D. M.S. or Bachelors degree in Math Economics Bioinformatics Statistics Engineering Computer Science or other quantitative field

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $183000 USD - $271000 bonus equity benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
