Description:

Position Purpose:

At Mercy Care we believe in serving with compassion dignity and excellence. As a Medical Office Specialist you will be the first point of contact for patients playing a vital role in ensuring seamless and welcoming front desk operations. Your attention to detail and customer service will help our patients feel valued and supported.

What You Will Do:

  • Greet clients and visitors answer phones and direct inquiries.

  • Accurately collect and enter patient demographic and financial information.

  • Verify insurance eligibility and collect payments.

  • Manage appointment scheduling and daily front-desk operations.

  • Enter billing information using the Patient Care Network System.

  • Act as liaison between patients and medical/support staff.

  • Participate in 1-2 weekend health fairs or community events annually.

  • Serve patients across age groups with a focus on adults and geriatric populations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least two years of computer literacy including Word and Excel.

  • 23 years of experience in a private physicians office or community health center preferred.

  • Minimum one year of experience with billing for Medicare Medicaid HMOs and commercial insurance.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

  • Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines preferred.
