Job Summary

The primary function of the Corporate Development department in Asia is to articulate assess and strategize holistically how Manulife can evolve and grow its Asian franchise through inorganic avenues including mergers acquisitions partnerships (bancassurance and/or affinity partnerships) strategic investments new markets as well as in adjacent business lines such as asset management and pensions. The team sources monitors and executes on potential opportunities and co-ordinates with the relevant key internal and external stakeholders.


Join us as a co-op intern to support the Corporate Development department in the assessment of potential opportunities and to take a holistic and collaborative approach in articulating and executing on an agreed inorganic strategy for each of Manulifes markets in Asia. While conducting market research financial analysis & modelling competitive benchmarking and preparing presentation materials for senior stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Research industry trends and market developments across Asia to identify potential business opportunities.

  • Help build financial models and do basic valuation work to support decision-making.

  • Assist in creating presentation materials and reports for internal meetings and senior stakeholders.

  • Support coordination across different teams during project planning and execution.

  • Track progress of ongoing projects and help summarize key updates.

  • Contribute ideas and insights during team discussions on strategy and growth.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate / Graduate students with a major in in finance & accounting actuarial science economics or related subjects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Mandarin and Cantonese.

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Able to commit full-time from January - July 2026

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship experience at an investment bank consulting firm accounting firm insurance company or a corporate team working on M&A partnerships or investments.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.

  • Agile creative and show initiative while working in a challenging and fast paced environment.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Result oriented with strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
