Job Summary
Responsibilities
Peraton is currently hiring for a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer with Linux and Cloud Integration to join our Federal Strategic Cyber Programs.
Locations: Rosslyn VA & Beltsville MD
Schedule: Hybrid (On-site & Remote)
What Youll Do:
- Lead the design integration and deploymentof cybersecurity tools across enterprise environments.
- Perform system builds configurations and security hardeningfor new and existing technologies.
- Integrate cybersecurity tools (e.g. Tenable Splunk endpoint protection) into existing infrastructure and workflows.
- Develop test and maintain Terraform codeto automate secure infrastructure provisioning in Azure and on-prem environments.
- Collaborate with network infrastructure and operations teams to ensure seamless transition of engineered solutions into O&M.
- Support vulnerability managementprocesses including scanning reporting and remediation integration.
- Participate in system integration testing validation and deploymentto ensure secure configurations and compliance.
- Provide engineering support and documentation including detailed architecture diagrams configuration baselines and technical procedures.
- Monitor emerging cybersecurity technologies and recommend innovative solutions to strengthen enterprise security posture.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors degree and minimum of 9 years of relevant experience required; 7 years with a Masters 4 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
- To be considered for this position applicants must either currently hold one of the professional certifications listed below or obtain one prior to their start date. Continued certification is required as a condition of employment.
- CASP CE CCNA Cyber Ops CCNA-Security CCNP Security CEH CFR CISA CISSP (or Associate) Cloud CySA GCED GCIA GCIH GICSP SCYBER VCA DCV PPDA Agile IC SNOW App Dev.
- Advanced Linux system administration experience including shell scripting performance tuning and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
- Cloud integration experience.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Cybersecurity engineering tool integration and system hardening.
- System integration testing and enterprise deploymentof cybersecurity tools and controls.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)concepts specifically using Terraform.
- Supporting and securing cloud environments especially Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of network protocols hybrid environments and troubleshooting across distributed systems.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53 RMF and FISMAcompliance frameworks.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- An active Secret security clearance.
- The ability to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred:
- Experience automating and securing Azure cloud infrastructureusing Terraform or similar IaC tools.
- Experience managing Linux-based systems in secure high-availability environments including patching access control and log management.
- Expertise with enterprise cybersecurity tools(e.g. Tenable Splunk CrowdStrike Palo Alto).
- Proficiency in Python Bash or PowerShellscripting for automation and tool integration.
- Hands-on experience leading or mentoring teams in an Agile or SAFeenvironment.
- Excellent analytical documentation and communication skills.
