This position will be based at the BorgWarner Arden facility in Western North Carolina and will transition to a new facility with a specific location to be finalized.

BorgWarneris currently seeking anOperations Group Leaderwith cross-functional experience to take on a multifaceted leadership role. This individual willbe responsible forleading a small team focused on building early prototypes and initial production units. They will work closely with engineering teams to recommend improvements that enhance production readiness. As the product moves toward full-scale manufacturing this rolewill oversee the transition ensuring thatbuildsmeet safety quality and performance standards.Following the launch they will be tasked with building developing and managing the production team to support ongoing operations.

- Work with Manufacturingengineering to build a smalloperationsteam toaccomplishprototype builds and pull ahead production builds.
- Leverage learnings from prototype builds and support the production launch of new business.
- Develop and manage departmental staffing.
- Ability toidentifyand drive improvements around Constraints in manufacturing (people and process or equipment).
- Drive team leader and team member development.
- Proven ability to build lead and develop teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of lean manufacturing machine design Assembly Process.
- Ability to manage to KPIs such as OEE scrap Quality Incidents etc
- Drive ongoing Continuous Improvement initiatives that are aligned with business needs.
- Ensure a safe work environment.
- Drive investigation and root cause analysis for all safety related incidents within their department.
- Execute departmental disciplinary actions corrective actions and terminations.
- Oversee all departmental activitiesin accordance withcompany policies and procedures and applicable laws.
- Build employee engagement through thoughtful incorporation of employee ideas.
- Responsible for area performance measures and individual employee work performance; provide coaching and direction to employees at various levels within the organization.
- Responsible for communication at all levels.
- Supports all shifts for manufacturing during the week and weekends if necessary
- Timelines efficiency and cost control are of the utmost importance
- Develops working relationships with the manufacturing quality human resources information technology accounting and materials department and equipment suppliers tofacilitateprocess improvements
- Leads and motivates employees per the BorgWarner philosophy
- Understanding all requirements of each job reporting to this position
- Ensuring each person is performing all requirements of the job
- Providing adequate training and development as necessary
- Perform other duties as needed
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of lean manufacturing processes/procedures
- Familiarity with proven safety programs or quality programs (i.e. Kaizen)
- Thorough knowledge of Statistical Process Control and Lean principles
- Automotive or Industrial experience preferred.
- Ability to use SAP preferred
- Ability to create and organizelarge amountsof production data todetermineand action trends to drive KPI improvements
- Exhibit a high aptitude for Problem Solving
- Knowledge of advanced aspects of products/processes that are managed
- Experienced and capable in building leading and motivating teams
- Understands human resource management and development skills
- Thorough knowledge of project management techniques and tools (GANTT & PERT charts etc.)
- Four-year degree is preferred.
- Attendance on the job is essential.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to follow instructions safetyrulesand regulations.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office applications - Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Professional verbal and written communication skills essential
