We are currently seeking a Senior Lead Engineer/Architect Java

Location: Pune / Remote (India)
Experience: 10 years
Reports To: Engineering Manager EXA-DS

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Senior Architect to lead the design and development of scalable high-performance solutions within the EXA Data Services (S3DS/NSDS) product line.
The candidate should have a strong background in Java Spring Framework and distributed systems architecture with proven experience in building large-scale storage or data service products end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and own the architecture design and technical roadmap for S3DataService component.
• Lead the product lifecycle from requirements and design to development testing and release.
• Provide technical leadership mentorship and reviews for the engineering team.
• Drive improvements in performance scalability and reliability of distributed data systems.
• Collaborate with QA DevOps and Support (L3) teams to ensure stability and quality.
• Evaluate and implement customer-driven features in collaboration with Product Management.
• Ensure adherence to best practices coding standards and architectural principles.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong expertise in Java Spring Framework (Core Boot Data) and server-side programming.
• Hands-on experience with Maven REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of system design architecture patterns and distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of data storage Big Data systems Cassandra Hadoop and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with S3 object storage protocol and related storage technologies.
• Strong foundation in Linux networking and infrastructure-level debugging.
• Proven ability to lead design and implementation for large-scale enterprise systems.
• Excellent analytical communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-sufficient proactive and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Experience with Python containerization (Podman/Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD workflows.
• Prior experience with distributed file systems or high-availability storage solutions.
• Understanding of security data consistency and fault-tolerant architectures.
