Why Your Role Matters
As an Assessment Officeryoullplay a key role in providing an efficient and positive experience for prospective and current responsible fortheaccurateandtimelyassessment of credit transfer advanced standing and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) applications ensuring alignment with university policy and articulation agreements.
The role reports to the Credit & RPL Team Leader and has no direct reports.
Main Responsibilities
Assess credit transfer advanced standing and RPL applications in line with university policies and procedures
Verify prior study records and qualifications for authenticity and relevance
Work with academic and faculty staff to review and approve non-precedented applications
Maintain the credit precedent database and support development of articulation pathways
Provide clear student-focused communication on application outcomes and next steps
Manage student enquiries ensuringtimelyresolution andaccuraterecord keeping
Contribute to audits reporting and ongoing quality improvement initiatives
Participate in team collaboration training and process enhancement activities

Ideallypreviousexperience in assessing credit transferand/or RPL applications
Proven experience in administration and customer service within a higher education environment.
Strong understanding of the student lifecycle in a university setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students staff and external stakeholders.
Confidence in interpreting policies and procedures toprovideaccurateadvice and resolve issues independently.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
A proactive and positive attitude with a focus on collaboration service quality and continuous improvement.
The role will work on a hybrid basisMonday to Friday business during the end of the year UNSW shutdown period and some keyweekendsduring peak periods will berequired.
