Overview
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer with a strong background in on-premise data processing technologies especially Informatica PowerCenter. The ideal candidate should be passionate about data have excellent command over database management SQL and performance tuning and enjoy collaborating with diverse teams to deliver robust data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
>Design develop and maintain data integration workflows using Informatica PowerCenter.
>Work extensively with relational databases (DB2 or similar) including database design writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and performance tuning.
>Implement and optimize data models for both OLTP and analytical workloads.
>Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in ETL jobs and database queries.
>Collaborate with application teams and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
>Ensure data quality governance and security standards are met throughout the data lifecycle.
>Maintain and support existing ETL processes and database systems proactively identifying areas for improvement. Required Skills and Experience
>3-4 years of hands-on development experience with Informatica PowerCenter.
>Strong expertise in relational databases (preferably DB2) including schema design complex SQL development and performance tuning.
>Solid understanding of Data Architecture Principles Data Governance Data Strategy Data Standards Data Quality and Data Modeling (both enterprise and dimensional models).
>Experience with designing and developing complex ETL mappings including the use of various Informatica transformations (lookup aggregator router joiner etc.).
>Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions.
>Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Good-to-Have (Secondary Skills)
While not mandatory experience in the following areas will be considered a plus:
>Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
>Experience with scripting/programming languages (e.g. Python) for automating data cleansing transformation or workflow orchestration.
>Familiarity with popular Python libraries for data (e.g. Pandas Numpy).
>Knowledge of one popular Python framework (Flask Django etc.).
>Experience working with data visualization or BI tools (e.g. Tableau).
>Awareness of modern data warehousing and big data concepts.
