The Medtronic Product Innovation organization is Medtronics global technology team focused on next generation software product capabilities which deliver on the Medtronic mission and vision to deliver Insight Driven Care. This role will operate within the Digital Health subgroup of the broader Product Innovation team focused on patient engagement care coordination AI healthcare analytics & interoperability amongst other advanced technologies which enhance our product portfolio with new services while improving clinical & patient experiences.

- Introduces and maintains processes tools and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development life cycle.
- Conducting requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality the interfaces between hardware and software and the overall software characteristics.
- Applys knowledge of software development best practices including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes and testing.
- Engages with Systems teams on development testing and deployment technologies for developing automated CI/ CD pipelines.
- Facilitates collaboration among different experts and across toolchains to realize process efficiency.
- Supports software testing deployment maintenance and evolution activities.
- Responds to scope changes and codes software enhancements including cloud-based or internet-related tools.
- Responsible for the design and architecture of the Deployment Platform which is currently focused primarily on mobile applications that are either deployed to a managed device program or to 3rd party deployment channels such as Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Will set standards around the appropriate use of technologies coding standards and development tools that achieve the following Deployment Platform goals:
- Scalability
- Supportability
- Security
- Reliability and performance
- Risk management
- Develops and maintains the deployment platform based on requirements.
- Reviews industry and OS changes and provides an impact assessment to build out a maintenance release and continuous improvement roadmap.
- Will provide guidance and direction to other developers and provide technical expertise.
- Conducts code reviews to enforce coding standards to maintain consistency across the team.
- Creates and maintains documentation of architectural designs decisions and technical specifications.
- Collaborates with product owners service leads and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical solutions and business goals.
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelors degree
- 4 years of experience with a bachelors degree or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
- Strongly Preferred:
- Previous Medtronic experience
- Prior experience with Terraform Databases (Relational and NoSQL)
- Proficiency in the app signing process and tools needed to digitally sign an app to verify its authenticity. Experience with automating the application signing process as part of the CICD pipeline
- 4 years working with one of the following programming languages (Python Swift Kotlin JavaScript / TypeScript)
- Experience with automation frameworks and scripting languages.
- 4 years of experience in mobile application development and application deployment/release through various deployment channels.
- Hands on experience with CICD pipelines tools and methodologies
- Prior experience with architecture design with AWS or other hyperscaler
- Understands the specific requirements and guidelines of app stores like Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Building software classified as Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
- Experience implementation enterprise grade cyber security & privacy by design into software products
- Experience developing global applications
- Strong understanding of SDLC Waterfall & Agile methodologies
- Experience managing stakeholders and software estimation

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$134400.00 - $201600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
