Job Summary
Assistant/Associate Professor of English
The University of Mary in Bismarck ND invites applications for a faculty position in English to begin in fall 2026. Salary is commensurate with qualifications experience and rank. A Masters degree (or equivalent course work) is required at time of employment but a Ph.D. (or relevant coursework) is desired. Candidates must be able to show an ability to teach a wide range of English courses including introductory composition. Specialization in rhetoric and composition is preferred. Candidates should also be conversant with the larger Christian intellectual tradition. Applicants should also excel in teaching at the undergraduate level and be able to teach broadly among the various areas of English while having an active research agenda.
All faculty are expected to demonstrate a willingness to support and advance the Christian Catholic and Benedictine mission and identity of the University of Mary (see ).

- Support the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
- Build a culture of ready and earnest hospitality inthe School of Arts and Sciences and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedicts admonition that all be received as Christ
