Job Summary

Community Care TASMANIA began life in 1990 as the provider of choice for the local migrant communities. We are a leading not for profit Age Care and Disability provider dedicated to delivering compassionate care and support to Tasmanians; enabling them to thrive at home with dignity and respect.

35 years on we are now preparing to open our Respite & Training Centre and Café. We are looking for an experienced café attendant extraordinaire to join our Launceston based team.

About the Role

Our Café Attendant will provide an exceptional café experience to all customers creating a warm welcoming and safe space for everyone who walks through our doors.

The role will include:

  • Provide exceptional service handle complaints professionally and create a welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
  • Prepare and serve a full range of espresso-based coffees teas and other beverages to a high standard.
  • Assist with basic food preparation and presentation such as assembling sandwiches and plating cakes and pastries.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the entire café.
  • Manage order flow support community events catering and assist kitchen if needed.

You will bring:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a café or restaurant environment is essential.
  • Relevant hospitality certificate (such as barista training or espresso essential) is desirable
  • Experience using modern POS systems for order taking and payment processing.
  • Understanding of age care and disability sector would be an advantage.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with a naturally friendly and positive attitude.
  • A current Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Satisfactory National Police check.
  • Current Tasmania Drivers License.
  • Working with Vulnerable People Card (NDIS Screening to be obtained).
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Module certificate.
