Product Manager
The Product Manager is primarily responsible for assisting in the development of products; conducting market research; leading working groups and documenting product requirements; reviewing technical specifications; planning and driving production timelines; quantifying product benefits; determining pricing; planning for product introduction and developing marketing strategies; product-sales oriented outreach; and selling the product/vision to the target market.
Key additional responsibilities include providing quantitative analysis; developing reports; developing marketing content; making business recommendations; presenting analyses and research; creating dashboards and developing strategies to demonstrate value to RiskStream members. The RiskStream Product Manager reports to the Senior Director of Product Operations but also works closely with the President of RiskStream the broader Product management team the Sales team and the Operations team.
What Youll Do:
- Has a holistic viewpoint across all use cases and products.
- Leads and /or participates in working groups and works with stakeholders to determine customers needs. Works with Associate Product Manager -Insurance to identify related market information to create formal analyses and identify areas for improvement.
- Effectively communicates with key stakeholders influencing them to support proposed strategies process improvements and operational decisions.
- Maintains documentation regarding various projects processes and operations
- Assesses market competition by comparing the companys product to competitors products based on an analysis of the size of the market the piece of the market that our products satisfy etc.
- Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts using industry data preparing special reports and analyses and answering questions and requests.
- Uses external and internal data to create models showcasing member benefits in adopting various products or joining the RiskStream Collaborative as well as the benefits to the consortium in growing the RiskStream member network.
- Creates analytical dashboard for member viewing; works with VP RiskStream and Directors of Products to write and create detailed reports.
- Works with The Institutes research team to produce member-wide surveys; provides an analysis of the data obtained.
- Works with Product Management Team to gather review and analyze business and industry data to create a market analysis.
- Assesses product market data by calling on customers with relationship managers and evaluating results.
- Helps RiskStream attract new members by working closely with RiskStream staff to create return-on-investment analyses.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Works with Sales to support product-sales and membership discussions .
- Establishes and manages partnerships with external solution providers to enhance product offerings.
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelors degree. Degrees in economics statistics or another analytical field preferred.
- Showcases analytical ability but also impressive aptitude for understanding business problems quantifying solutions and writing research reports.
- Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and work in a fast-paced environment with many initiatives.
- Ability to manage a variety of research projects. Both product-oriented projects and occasionally business-oriented projects.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision and direction.
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to advance projects while managing multiple initiatives.
- Capability to influence and instill credibility in sponsors peers and subordinates by meeting project milestones deadlines and budget.
- Resourcefulness and ability to devise creative solutions to problems.
- Excellent working experience with Microsoft Office Suite SharePoint and Visio. Experience with analytical tools like Tableau or R is a plus.
- Experience testing and mapping various business processes and protocols.
- Familiarity with industry technology systems to gather data and problem solve.
- Excellent oral and written communication problem solving and leadership skills.
