About the Role
Were hiring a Senior Bookkeeper for our Operations team with a clear pathway into a Management Accountant role. This is an internal hire youll support advisory divisions own complex bookkeeping and progressively take on financial reporting analysis and forecasting responsibilities as you develop.
Requirements- Bookkeeping & Compliance: Own endtoend bookkeeping for a portfolio internal business units including reconciliations accounts payable/receivable payroll support BAS preparation and GST processing.
- Monthly Close: Prepare monthend journals and assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reporting: Prepare clear monthly management reports and packs (initially transactional and compliance focused moving to more analytical reporting over time).
- Partnering: Work closely with business unit leaders to support internal stakeholders.
- Process improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in financial processes and systems.
- Adhoc analysis: Provide financial information and support for special projects.
- Mentorship: Support and mentor junior bookkeepers and assistants.
- Development into Management Accountant: As you gain experience youll take on budgeting forecasting KPI review variance analysis and deeper financial modelling to support decisionmaking.
What were looking for
- Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience in a similar-sized team or practice.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in accounting or related field; studying towards CA/CPA will be highly regarded.
- Technical skills: Strong bookkeeping skills (reconciliations BAS payroll fundamentals); familiarity with accounting software and Excel.
- Communication: Ability to present clear concise financial information to stakeholders.
- Mindset: Attention to detail problemsolving process improvement and a desire to progress into financial reporting and management accounting.
- Cultural fit: Collaborative inclusive and client-focused approach.
