Role:

The Nurse Resident is a structured training program designed to transition newly graduated registered nurses (RNs) into competent and confident professional nurses within Franciscan Health System (FHS). Under the close supervision of a designated preceptor and within the scope of their licensure the Nurse Resident participates in a comprehensive program encompassing both clinical and didactic components. This role focuses on developing foundational skills and knowledge while providing direct patient care under close supervision.

You will see a variety of complex patient medical conditions and surgeries. As a Medical Surgical Nurse you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe quality care for our most vulnerable patients. Medical Surgical will keep you on your toes!

What youll do:

Provide comprehensive and compassionate care for Medical Surgical level patients which can range from Heart Failure and Pneumonia to Hip Fractures and General Abdominal Surgeries

Develop and implement nursing care plans. Assess and monitoring patients

Administer medications and treatments

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes but not limited to Physicians Care Management and Therapy Services.

Education & Experience:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

License & Certification:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.

Current Healthcare BLS Certification.

Specialty certification as appropriate to the assigned work unit is strongly preferred.
