Position Summary The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. This position is responsible for preparing the operating room maintaining sterile technique and assisting the surgical team throughout procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Reports To: Director of Surgery / Operating Room
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Essential Duties & Responsibilities -
Prepare the operating room with required instruments equipment supplies and sterile solutions

Verify proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment prior to procedures
-
Assist with patient preparation positioning transporting and draping
-
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments and supplies during procedures
-
Maintain accurate counts and tracking of instruments sponges and supplies
-
Receive label and transport specimens to the laboratory following protocol
Additional Responsibilities -
Maintain professionalism when interacting with patients staff vendors and external partners

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
-
Follow hospital policies procedures and best practices
-
Perform other duties as assigned
