Description
Senior Consultants at The Clearing lead small to medium-sized projects serving as the main engine for delivery to drive client outcomes and satisfaction and team effectiveness. Senior Consultants demonstrate strong financial management ensuring their project(s) meet or exceed financial targets and identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies. They cultivate team members by modeling the TC Way demonstrating our companys core consulting approaches mindsets and behaviors and providing both positive reinforcement and assessments of growth opportunities. Senior Consultants ensure the quality of client work meets or exceeds the customers expectations. They demonstrate effective client relationship management listening for and responding to buying signals to deepen the impact of their clients and drive project and/or account growth.
What Youll Do
- Lead/manage small to medium-sized projects serving as the main engine for delivery to drive client outcomes and satisfaction
- Ensure quality of work; manage client expectations and oversee client status updates client requirements deliverables management budget performance and prompt and accurate issue resolution
- Manage project financials for multiple small or medium projects or a large complex project to include time and expense reporting invoicing task planning and status reporting
- Develop high-quality client-facing deliverables
- Facilitate moderately complex client meetings to achieve desired client/project outcomes
- Develop trusted professional relationships with clients; advise clients using proven methods and experience
- Contribute to advanced/complex proposal development efforts including writing complete sections; acting as proposal coordinator for large efforts or leading smaller proposal efforts
- Support and/or lead research data gathering and analysis to inform the development of client recommendations and solutions; synthesize and present results clearly
- Navigate contracting options within the client environment and partner with Project/Account leadership and other company leaders to get an engagement contractually closed
- Pursue and secure follow-on or plus-up project work including managing the capture proposal and contract process
- Support the professional training and development of junior team members
- Develop thought leadership materials (internal and external)
Requirements
- Active (or within two years) DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Bachelors degree
- 6 years of professional work experience preferably in management consulting or another professional service or client-facing environment
- Willingness and ability to travel to client sites in the surrounding DC and Baltimore metro areas; occasional travel outside of these regions could be expected (5%)
- Critical thinking/problem-solving skills attention to detail organization and time-management skills
- Strong business writing and verbal communication skills; strategic communication skills are highly desired
- Flexible and adaptable mindset to operate effectively in ambiguous fast-paced high-stakes client environments
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future without the need for company (The Clearing) visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Desired skills experiences and certifications: change management strategic planning program management people management and/or organizational design experience; PMP and/or Change Management certification (ex.: Prosci)
Compensation
The projected salary range for this position is between $87360 and $131040 annually. Actual compensation and starting salaries are determined based on various factors including the education experience knowledge skills certifications and clearance level of the candidate and internal equity. Once at The Clearing movement through pay bands is based on performance. Base-annual salary is just one component of The Clearings total compensation philosophy and approach. Employees are eligible to participate in The Clearings robust benefits programs including our incentive compensation (bonus) programs. Physical and Mental Requirements
While performing duties of this job an employee may be required to perform any or all of the following: attend meetings in and out of the office travel (sometimes extensively); occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; communicate effectively (both orally and in writing); ability to effectively use computers and other electronic and standard office equipment; and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Work is primarily sedentary and involves sitting for several hours at a time. Occasionally walking climbing stairs and standing occur in this role. Additionally this job requires certain mental demands including the ability to use judgment withstand moderate amounts of stress and maintain attention to detail.
