About us

DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for and housing related services to members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing and housing related services to ADF members and their families to support Defences operational needs.

DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility providing posting support and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60000 ADF members.

About your team

The Property Group is responsible for meeting DHAs delivery objectives for high-quality housing services. This includes the delivery of new properties into DHAs portfolio through various mechanisms strategic management of existing portfolios and related services to support provisioning stock management and delivery strategy across Australia.

Additionally the Property Group achieves these objectives through programs such as Strategic Provisioning Leasing and Acquisitions Development and Constructions supported by the Marketing and Investor Support teams.

About the role

The Director Commercial and Performance Improvement leads strategic and operational initiatives to enhance DHAs provisioning capabilities and commercial effectiveness supporting Defences housing needs through data-informed customer-focused and commercially sustainable approaches. The Director provides strategic direction and commercial analysis drives cross-organisational initiatives to improve performance and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
