Job Summary

Scope of Position

The Purchasing & Receiving Clerk is responsible for assisting with the procurement of goods and services receiving and inspecting deliveries and maintaining accurate inventory records. This position ensures that all items are ordered received and stored in accordance with company standards regulations.

Position Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.
  • Minimum of 1 -2 years experience in a similar position or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Fort Lift Certification is a plus.
  • General knowledge of Excel/Word/Outlook.
  • General knowledge of food & beverage items.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.

Requirements

  • Assist in sourcing and ordering food beverage housekeeping maintenance and other supplies.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and compare prices and quality to ensure best value.
  • Prepare purchase orders and submit them to suppliers after management approval.
  • Maintain and update vendor database.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place replenishment orders in a timely manner.
  • Receive inspect and verify the quantity and quality of incoming goods.
  • Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Tag and store goods properly in designated storage areas following FIFO (First-In First-Out) practices.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure timely delivery of goods to the appropriate locations.
  • Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies.
  • Remove empty pallets cardboard and trash and place them in proper storage areas.
  • Protect company tools equipment machines or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist department supervisor with special projects as needed.
  • Perform any other duties required by management.

Education

  • High school diploma additional education in accounting a plus.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform proper chemical handling cleaning techniques and use of equipment/machinery.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements

  • On a continuous basis sit stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies.
  • Use the telephone and computer keyboard daily.
  • Must be physically fit in to stand walk bend and lift up to 100lbs and push carts ranging from 200lbs 500lbs.
