Intertek a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the worlds top-recognized brands and companies is actively seeking an Acoustics Consultant to join our team in New York City. Interteks Building and Construction division is a suite of Intertek brands that are industry leaders across multiple architecture engineering and construction disciplines developing the most innovative product and project solutions. Interteks project-related assurance testing inspection and consulting services are the risk management and quality assurance partner you need to ensure the reliability safety and performance of your new developments existing assets and facilities.

Interteks Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting commissioning and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.

What are we looking for

The Acoustics Consultant will assist project team members to ensure the success of projects during various phases of design and construction. The work will also include design assist services and construction administration support in addition to field testing. This position will travel frequently within and outside the local area depending on workloads and project locations; estimate is 25%.

Shift/Schedule: Monday Friday 8-1PM(Approximately 25 hours per week)

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage for this position is $40 - $55 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set experience qualifications and other job-related reasons.

What youll do:

  • Assist with acoustic projects nationally including testing modeling and consulting services for new and existing buildings

  • Prepare and review deliverables such as proposals specifications reports and construction document sets

  • Drive innovation and expand service offerings in key strategic areas of acoustical consulting and field testing

  • Performconstruction administration services and site visits

  • Prepare professionally written field reports

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Acoustics Engineering Architecture or acoustics related field

  • 5 years of acoustics consulting experience

  • Construction administration progress observation and site inspection experience

  • Ability toefficiently work on multiple projects simultaneouslyin a team environment

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines

  • Consistent and professional interaction and communication

  • Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks

  • Ability to travel frequently within and outside the local area depending on workloads and project locations estimate 25% travel time

  • Valid drivers license and reliable driving record

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Professional certification or registration (INCE Board Certification PE RA etc.)

  • Computer modeling experience (ODEON iNOISE etc.)
