The Team Lead Origination Germany (m/f/d) oversees the acquisition of utility-scale PV (photovoltaic) and BESS (battery energy storage system) projects in Germany. This role focuses on strategically building and managing the Origination team (10-13 FTE) as well as the GIS team (3-4 FTE) driving project identification streamlining processes and ensuring the successful achievement of the companys goals.
The role is Berlin based (hybrid model) or remote in Germany.
- Oversee and manage a team of Project Origination managers and GIS Experts ensuring its growth to approximately 20 members
- Develop and implement a robust origination strategy to effectively secure land for PV and BESS projects
- Strategically build and align the Origination team to address market needs and enhance operational success in Germany
- Set clear objectives for origination activities monitor progress using defined indicators and ensure effective execution
- Manage the integration of qualified projects into the project pipeline while aligning activities with broader company objectives
- Identify and evaluate potential projects working closely with municipalities to obtain approvals and support
- Negotiate and conclude agreements with landowners to secure land essential for project feasibility
- Streamline internal workflows and introduce innovative tools like CRM systems to boost team productivity
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or masters degree in business administration renewable energy environmental science engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project acquisition or development preferably in renewable energy
- Experience in team leadership strategy development and process optimization
- Strong understanding of PV and BESS project development processes and proficiency in GIS tools
- Excellent analytical negotiation and reporting skills
- Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring teams fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to navigate diverse personalities and effectively handle conflicts or challenges
- The ability to inspire motivate and guide employees toward achieving team and company goals
- Knowledge of legal frameworks including land leasing urban planning and notarial processes
- Familiarity with renewable energy market trends and regulatory changes
- Project management certifications (e.g. PMP PRINCE2) are a plus
- Fluency in German and English languages are required
