About the position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Lead: Benchmarking & Performance to join the ENGINE Innovation team; this role will be based in Chevrons office in Bengaluru.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Technical Lead: Benchmarking & Performance will be a senior member in Chevrons ENGINE benchmarking and performance team who will work closely with senior business leaders global stakeholders and external partners to deliver high-impact competitiveness reports and support strategic decision-making. This role will mentor analysts back-end database developers and front-end analytics technical specialists working across upstream downstream midstream and chemicals businesses. This role will drive the execution of benchmarking studies target setting and performance insights ensuring data accuracy consistency and relevance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide coaching and development for a team of benchmarking analysts database owners and front-end data visualization specialists
Coach and mentor a team to execute benchmarking studies across upstream downstream midstream and chemicals
Ensure quality accuracy and consistency of data submissions and outputs across multiple studies and business units
Oversee database management activities and integration of internal and external data sources APIs and pipelines to maintain robust and connected databases
Collaborate with IT data engineering and business teams to ensure alignment of database solutions with enterprise standards
Serve as ENGINE point of contact with third-party data providers and external benchmarking organizations
Provide feedback and input to senior leaders to enable improvements in the benchmarking process and provide benchmarking inputs to enable enterprise level strategic decisions
About you
Bachelors degree in Engineering Computer Science Data Engineering or any related field
15 - 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry including experience in performance benchmarking operations data management or strategic consulting
Proven technical background in database management data architecture or data engineering with the ability to oversee complex systems and integrations
Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with relational and non-relational database platforms
Strong knowledge of benchmarking frameworks and performance measurement methodologies
Demonstrated experience in managing complex cross-functional projects
Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management skills
