The General Manager will motivate and lead the site teams to meet the site strategy in Health & Safety Quality and profitability ensuring focus on efficient and effective customer service standards and developing key relationships with main customer.
This role is not Specific to St Helens and will cover across the IPS network so travel will be required.
Key Duties of a General Manager:
- To provide leadership for the site.
- Lead the implementation of the site Strategy .
- Ensure compliance to Company and Legal requirements of H&S and Quality.
- Liaise with key stakeholders and departments at Head Office.
- Effectively plan and manage resourcing meet customer and businesses requirements.
- Ensure production process efficiency targets are communicated owned targeted and delivered. e.g. labour and waste.
- Attend customer review meetings when required.
- Fully utilise systems available to drive Continuous Improvement in all areas of the Operations
- Provide H&S leadership for the site.
- Develop and implement site strategy for H&S.
- Actively promote safe ways of working within the factory.
- Conduct disciplinary and grievance hearings in accordance with the companies procedures and taking guidance from the HR manager when necessary.
- Effectively manage staff issues to prevent issues being escalated.
- Set and monitor KPIs of site team.
- Conduct and take part in performance reviews including setting KPIs for Managers Supervisors and Team Leaders.
- Assist in the recruitment process when required.
- Formulation of training and development plans for current staff and new starters.
- Coach support and mentor colleagues support the development of an empowering culture.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience within a similar management role within manufacturing/co packing environment.
- Working knowledge with Health and safety inclusive of food safety.
- Experience of managing a team across site operations.
- Ability to communicate in a positive and clear manner.
- Forward planning and delivery.
- Ability to plan organise and prioritise work to strict deadlines.
- Ability to plan workload and make best use of resources.
- Great Customer focus and commercial awareness.
- A commitment to respond to changing customer needs.
- Contribute to and support new ways of working to increase efficiencies to respond to customer needs.
- Proficient in MS Packages.
