Job Summary

Department: Psychological Sciences Sociology/Criminology Journalism/Mass Communications

Job Status: 25 hours per week during the academic year (all days on which fall and spring classes are in session)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Department Chairs

Work Schedule: Normally M-F 9:00-3:00

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for administrative tasks in support of department chairs and faculty members in the departments of Psychological Sciences Sociology/Criminology and Journalism/Mass Communication.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist department chairs and faculty members with a variety of administrative duties such as the following :

  • Scheduling ordering and managing ADA accommodations for students taking nationally standardized exams.
  • Scheduling dates/times space catering and renumeration for visiting speakers.
  • Completing and processing routine academic forms.
  • Maintaining spreadsheets tracking departmental data.
  • Identifying students who are eligible for honor societies and other awards and assist with processing applications and awards.
  • Assisting with preparation of annual departmental reports.
  • Communicating with service-learning partners.
  • Ordering of routine supplies.
  • Providing general clerical support to all faculty members across the three departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required a bachelors degree is preferred; however equivalent education / experience will be considered


Experience

Successful applicants will be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite. Preference will be given to those with previous administrative/clerical experience.
