Our organisation
Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) provides a Joint headquarters to plan prepare and conduct operations to support NATOs core tasks at the Joint Operational level as directed by SACEUR.
The Support Directorate is responsible for planning directing monitoring assessing and coordinating Support staff functions.
The J1 Division is responsible for developing planning preparing and executing the HQs human resource plans and programmes.
The Military Personnel Branch (MPB) develops and implements staffing policy maintains required staffing levels in Baseline Activities & Current Operations (BACO) through Crisis up to Maximum Level Effort (MLE) manages personnel accountability and provides Human Resources (HR) administration services.
The incumbent provides staffing analysis and management of the human resources databases and assists the Assistant Chief of Staff (J1) in identifying and managing military Human Resources requirements.
The main duties of Staff Assistant (Database Management) are to:
Ø Assist in the execution of policies and procedures for staffing accountability and administration.
Ø Act as the J1 Point of Contact (POC) for Automated Personnel Management System (APMS) related issues.
Ø Organise feedback/review sessions with Local National Representatives POCs and HQ/BSG POCs involved in in/out processing of personnel.
Ø Report to the Branch Head any new requirements in staffing accountability and administration that require SHAPEs further consideration.
Ø Maintain the staffing databases for the peacetime location.
Ø Facilitate the in/out-processing of all JFCBS personnel.
Ø Record all personnel staffing data to include but not limited to personnel information extensions of tour reassignments and deployments.
Ø Develop and maintain contacts with local national representatives and Divisional POCs.
Ø Maintain the staffing databases for the HQs exercises and deployed locations.
Ø Set up staffing spreadsheets/database for elements involved in exercise/operations.
Ø Participate in the in/out processing routine for deploying HQ elements.
Ø Record all personnel staffing data for the exercise/operation.
Ø Act as the centre of expertise for the JFC HQs human resource. databases/systems query and report functions by remaining up-to-date and trained on new developments.
Ø Conduct staffing availability audits through assigned human resource databases/systems to track verify and improve the quality of data held by the systems.
Ø Design and generate personnel database queries and reports in support of the HQ and its deployed structures.
Ø Responsible for the administration of International Evaluation Reports and tour adjustment requests.
Ø Participate in exercises/operations as required.
Ø Assist in the implementation of workforce organisational and personnel reviews required in support of assigned units.
Ø Perform administrative duties.
Ø Undertake work as part of a project team or working group as directed or assigned.
Ø Act as Divisional CIS focal point.
Ø Responsible to keep own skills within the assigned functional area up to date and to maintain awareness of developments in the wider area of J1 activities to determine the minimum quantitative and qualitative human resources needed to perform a specific mission function or task.
The incumbent may be required to undertake deployments in support of military operations and exercises and/or TDY assignments both within and without NATO boundaries. Such operational deployment may exceed 30 days duration up to 183 days in any period of 547 days and may be on short notice. For NATO International Civilian Staff acceptance of an employment contract linked to this post constitutes agreement to deploy more than 30 days if required.
Required Qualifications are:
Ø English good NATO Standard Language Proficiency 3322
(Listening Speaking Reading and Writing) in accordance with NATO standard agreement (STANAG) 6001.
NOTE: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English.
Ø Secondary education and completed vocational training in related field/discipline.
Ø Three years professional experience in administration of personnel database.
Ø Experience in a Human Resources environment.
Desirable Qualifications are:
Ø Experience working in a Military Human Resources environment to include personnel accountability.
Ø Familiar with NATO regulations and procedures related to Human Resources Management.
Ø Completion of relevant courses/ training.

The medical examination will take place with our medical consultant isrequiredtodetermineif the recommended candidate is fit to perform the duties and is deployable to NATOs areas of operation.
