Job Duties:
To enable blind and visually impaired individuals to achieve their maximum level of employment education and personal independence.
The DBVI Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the full scope of facilities operations and maintenance for the Azalea Avenue Complex which includes eight buildings and 32 acres of land. This role requires a strong leader capable of managing a skilled maintenance team and performing a wide range of administrative and operational functions.

Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
EPA certification in proper refrigerant practices.
Supervisory experience in building maintenance or facilities operations.
Journeyman-level skill in one or more trades: HVAC electrical plumbing or carpentry.
Experience in vendor and contract management including the development of service contracts.
Familiarity with fire safety systems building automation systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Knowledge of state procurement systems (eVA) OSHA safety regulations state fire codes and general physical plant operations.
Valid Virginia drivers license or ability to obtain one before employment.
Skills/Abilities:
Skilled in diagnosing and repairing HVAC electrical plumbing and structural systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and architectural drawings.
Strong proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word Excel and work order management software.
Ability to effectively lead motivate and manage a team of journeyman and semi-skilled maintenance personnel.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and respond to emergencies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with vendors contractors and agency leadership.
